"Moloch" - an interpretation of "Howl" by Allen Ginsberg
After the events of ORLANDO it is even more important to strengthen the gay community. We - the collaborative DJ Project Blaenk Minds - have interpreted the iconographic poem HOWL of Allen Ginsberg in a new version.
Ginsberg is considered the gay forefather of the Beat Generation. In the most famous of his poems HOWL he describes the use of social taboos. Self-liberation, homosexuality, the use of intoxicants and madness - all against the backdrop of the United States of America in the 1950s.
A descent into hell in stanzas - and yet the friendliest of all poems. It was about the liberation not only of homosexuality from internalized constraints, but the liberation of the whole society.
Blaenk Minds has interpreted this poem visually and musically in a new way. The Berlin based actor Felix Isenbügel recites the poem and at the same time acts in the video. Supported by his colleagues Nico and Derek Nowak they deliver an intense performance. The techno track „Moloch“ was composed by the young Berliner Sam Simon. Blaenk Minds produced the video, Tilda v. Winning as the director and Kristian Raue as the camera operator.
Blaenk Minds is a DJ team. For each track the duo plays they produces a video. Each video is a collaboration of different artists. In the club these music videos are mixed in a DJ manner. The videos work with light and darkness and are also rhythmically adapted to the music.
